Most trades in Buenos Aires go perfectly well. These are the habits that keep it that way, for newcomers who don't know the city yet, and for locals who do.
A café, a bank lobby, the entrance of a subte station, or the lobby of your building with the portero present. Avoid apartments and empty streets for a first meeting.
For bulky or expensive items, bring a friend. If you go alone, send the listing link and the meeting spot to someone you trust.
Chat here until you've agreed on price and place. It keeps a record, and our translate button works in both directions.
Count cash before handing over the item, and check bills. For transfers, wait until the money actually lands in your account, a screenshot is not a payment. Never send a deposit to hold something you haven't seen.
Plug it in, open it, zip it, try it on. Ask for extra photos before you travel across the city.
You never need to share your home address, DNI, passport, or banking passwords to complete a sale. Pásala staff will never ask for them.
Pressure to move fast, prices far below reality, a request to pay off-platform, or a story that keeps changing are all reasons to walk away. You never owe anyone a meeting.
Use the Report button on any listing or conversation, and block the person from their profile. We read every report. In an emergency in Argentina, call 911.
