Giving from Buenos Aires

Where to donate, checked one by one

Two things in one place: the official appeals for the August 2026 earthquakes in Colombia and Venezuela, and organisations doing steady, boring, real work in Buenos Aires all year. Filter by cause, or search food, housing, kids, health or earthquake.

How we picked these

  • Registered organisations only: a civil association, foundation or national Red Cross society with years of public work behind it.
  • A donation page they run themselves. No personal transfer accounts, no fundraisers we cannot trace back to the organisation.
  • Public accounts or public reporting on what the money does, so you can check them without taking our word for it.
  • Every link on this page was loaded and working before publishing. Tell us if one breaks.

13 organisations

Colombia earthquake 2026

  • IFRC · Colombia earthquake appeal

    Emergency appeal

Works in Chocó, Valle del Cauca and Risaralda · Colombia earthquake 2026

Supports Cruz Roja Colombiana response after the 10 August 2026 quake

The federation channel for the Colombian Red Cross response near San José del Palmar, Chocó: search and rescue, health posts, clean water and cash grants for displaced families.

  • Cruz Roja Colombiana

    Emergency appeal

National society, head office in Bogotá · Colombia earthquake 2026

Give straight to the national society instead of through an intermediary

If you would rather your pesos or dollars land with the responders themselves, this is the Colombian Red Cross own money donation page, including bank transfer and card.

  • Direct Relief · Colombia earthquake

    Emergency appeal

Medical aid shipped to partner hospitals and clinics · Colombia earthquake 2026

US nonprofit, publishes audited financials and a public shipment tracker

Medicines, field medic packs and cold chain support for hospitals treating crush injuries. Useful if you want to see exactly what was sent and where, since every consignment is listed on the same page.

  • Plan International · Colombia earthquake appeal

    Emergency appeal

Child focused response in the affected municipalities · Colombia earthquake 2026

Child protection, safe spaces and school continuity after the quake

For giving aimed at kids: temporary learning spaces, protection for children separated from family, and hygiene kits for households sleeping outside.

Emergencies and health

  • Cruz Roja Argentina

    Argentina

Filiales in every province, including Villa Crespo in CABA · Emergencies and health

National society since 1880, first aid training and disaster response

Floods, fires, heat waves and first aid training for ordinary people. If you took one of their four hour CPR courses off our workshops page, this is the same organisation.

  • Médicos Sin Fronteras Argentina

    Argentina

Av. Santa Fe 4559, C.A.B.A. · Emergencies and health

Independent medical humanitarian work, around 96% funded by private donors

The Buenos Aires office of MSF, with a real address in Palermo. Donations here fund medical teams in crises worldwide, and their independence from governments is the reason they can work where others cannot.

Food

  • Banco de Alimentos Buenos Aires

    Argentina

Rescues food across AMBA, distributes to 1.000+ community kitchens · Food

Civil association since 2001, publishes an annual impact and financial report

They take food that would be thrown out by producers and supermarkets and move it to comedores and merenderos around Greater Buenos Aires. A small monthly donation goes a long way because the food itself is donated and what you fund is trucks, cold storage and staff.

  • Cáritas Argentina

    Argentina

Parish network in every diocese, head office in CABA · Food

Church network with thousands of volunteers, publishes yearly accounts

The widest reaching food and emergency network in the country, run barrio by barrio through parishes. Good option if you want your money spent close to where you live, since local Cáritas groups decide what the neighbourhood needs.

Kids and health

  • Fundación Garrahan

    Argentina

Works with the Hospital Garrahan, Parque Patricios, CABA · Kids and health

Supports the Garrahan children's hospital, also runs the paper and cap recycling programme

Equipment, a home for families travelling from the interior, and research at the country's main paediatric hospital. Their recycling programme is why half the offices in Buenos Aires collect bottle caps, and you can hand those in instead of money.

  • Fundación Huésped

    Argentina

Av. Forest 345, C.A.B.A. · Kids and health

Public health, HIV, sexual health and rights since 1989, publishes audited balances

Free testing, treatment access, sex education in schools and legal support against discrimination. One of the few Argentine nonprofits with decades of peer reviewed research behind its name.

Shelter and housing

  • Fundación Sí

    Argentina

Night rounds in CABA plus residences for rural students · Shelter and housing

Street outreach, student residences and flood response since 2012

Best known for the volunteer night rounds handing out food and blankets to people sleeping rough, and for residences that let students from small towns finish a degree. They are also usually first out the door when a province floods.

  • TECHO Argentina

    Argentina

Works in informal settlements across AMBA and the provinces · Shelter and housing

Regional organisation, publishes the national settlement census

Emergency housing, water and community infrastructure built together with families in barrios populares. Their settlement census is the data most journalists and city planners quote, which is a decent sign the work is documented.

Venezuela earthquakes 2026

  • IFRC · Venezuela earthquakes appeal

    Emergency appeal

Works across Gran Caracas and La Guaira · Venezuela earthquakes 2026

International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, official emergency appeal

Money goes to the Venezuelan Red Cross teams already on the ground after the August 2026 quakes: first aid, water, shelter kits and family reunification. The IFRC publishes what each appeal raises and spends, which is why we point here rather than at a fundraiser page.
